This project was a 85 square metre, 1930’s apartment in southwest London. The brief was to modernise it, keeping the art deco character.
As a centre piece we incorporated a very simple Art Deco inspired fireplace with a limestone mantle piece. As the original was not in the middle of the room the chimney breast was extended to create the illusion of balance. A secondary door going from the sitting room into the main bedroom was blocked, to have a continuous wall, making the room feel bigger.
